Scholarships

China Agricultural University provides several scholarships to support outstanding international students:

  1. Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS)
    • Coverage: Tuition, accommodation, stipend, and medical insurance.
    • Application: Apply through the Chinese Embassy or directly to CAU.
  2. Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship
    • Coverage: Full or partial tuition fees.
    • Application: Indicate interest during your program application.
  3. CAU President Scholarship
    • Coverage: Tuition fee waiver and, in some cases, living allowances.
    • Eligibility: Awarded based on academic excellence and research potential.
  4. Belt and Road Scholarship
    • Coverage: Full or partial funding for students from Belt and Road Initiative countries.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Nationality: Non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport.
  2. Educational Background:
    • Undergraduate: High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Master’s: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
    • Doctoral: Master’s degree or equivalent.
  3. Language Proficiency:
    • For programs taught in Chinese: HSK Level 4 or above (Level 5 or 6 preferred for some programs) you can join language center.
    • For programs taught in English: TOEFL (≥80) or IELTS (≥6.0), unless prior education was conducted in English.

Application Procedure

  1. Online Application:
    Submit your application through the China Agricultural University International Student Application Portal.
  2. Required Documents:
    • Academic transcripts and certificates.
    • Personal statement and research proposal (for graduate applicants).
    • Two recommendation letters (for graduate applicants).
    • Passport copy and recent passport-sized photo.
    • Language proficiency certificates.
  3. Application Fee:
    • RMB 600 (non-refundable).
  4. Submission Deadline: Ensure all materials are submitted before the deadline.

Application Timeline

  • Application Opens: November 1, 2024.
  • Application Deadline: March 31, 2025.
  • Admission Results: May 2025.
  • Enrollment Date: September 2025.
