Academic Background and Age Limits

• Undergraduate Programs: High school graduates under 25 years old.
• Master’s Programs: Bachelor’s degree holders under 35 years old.
• Doctoral Programs: Master’s degree holders under 40 years old.

Language Proficiency

• Chinese-taught Programs: HSK Level 5 or above is required for most programs.
• English-taught Programs: Applicants must provide valid proof of English proficiency (e.g., TOEFL/IELTS) unless their previous degree was taught in English.

Application Procedure

Step 1: Online Application

• Complete the online application through both platforms:

    • Select Type B.
  • Tsinghua University Application Portal: admissions.tsinghua.edu.cn

Step 2: Submit Required Documents

• Upload all necessary documents (listed below) to both portals.

Step 3: Application Review and Test

• Tsinghua University will review applications and may arrange an integrative test or interview.

Step 4: Final Result Notification

• Applicants shortlisted for admission will be notified in April 2025.

Required Documents

1. Highest Diploma: Notarized copy with Chinese/English translation.
2. Academic Transcripts: Official transcripts with notarized translations.
3. Language Certificate: HSK/IELTS/TOEFL certificate (if applicable).
4. Recommendation Letters:
   • Undergraduate applicants: Two letters from high school teachers or equivalent.
   • Master’s and doctoral applicants: Two letters from professors or associate professors.
5. Study Plan/Research Proposal:
   • Undergraduate applicants: Personal statement written in Chinese or English.
   • Master’s and doctoral applicants: Research proposal (minimum 800 words).
6. Physical Examination Form: Completed within 6 months prior to the application date.
7. Non-Criminal Record Certificate: Issued within 6 months of application.
8. Passport Copy: Scanned copy of the valid passport homepage.
9. Other Supporting Documents: Published papers, awards, or additional certifications (optional).
